Inner Styles - The Roxbury - Sat 10th May

I'm a fussy snotty cliquey type of person when it comes to a night out. Firstly I am loathe to travel more than 15 minutes from my lair, secondly my tolerance for idiocy is low...rather...low...indeed and thirdly I am a music Nazi and.... COVER CHARGES ARE THE ENEMY!!!
I'm always delighted to find a great night out and Inner Styles at the Roxbury has ticked all my boxes! The venue is a gem. Outside looks like a slightly seedy pub. Inside it's sleek yet accessible with heaps of space for dancing, pool or just having a chat with your friends. While the music could be heard throughout the venue it was soft enough away from the dance floor for a conversation to be had. For those wanting to do a little booty shaking there were cloaking facilities. Drink prices were reasonable.
The crowd were funky yet friendly and almost totally non pretentious. There was a notable absence of yobs and (amazing stories) not a trace of "fulsik" to be found. It's great to be able to have a dance without some greasy moron coming up behind you and attempting some kind of sexual assault.
The music was funky, ass shakin stuff, no mindless doof just quirky tunes that you just had to have a wiggle to. The highlight of the night was Chris Taylor's set an intelligent, lighthearted selection of tunes mixed to perfection.
And all for the bargain price of FREE! I'm still trying to wipe the grin off my face!
