Buildings, though built, inspire the building of other buildings by future builders who are turned on to building buildings by visiting the building or by being in its presence.
Vague in hold and wide in the pants department, "buildings" encompass many forms. Structures referred to as "houses", "condos" and "strip malls" are all of the genus.
Buildings are the epitome of their species because their existence inspires the building of other buildings. Thus, through reproduction, more and more buildings will come into existence. Until Darwin's evolution theories dictate that buildings will come to dominate society, ala Blade Runner.
Or planes come crashing through and make the people freeze and seek to wipe their existence retroactively.
Buildings also build a society through the employment of the work force. Where buildings are usually seen as places of work. Whether it be in their construction or the utilisation of the resources and such placed within the building itself.
The employment of such people then benefits the place as more and more are paid and thus can spend more which drives demand for the buildings to proliferate.
People are basically the gametes of the building species and in turn are what the buildings build in addition to their own.
