Sleep rattled commuter stirs up a waking fist

Ethan Switch - Friday, July 23, 2004 - 23:29:45 - print it raw

Battling comfort and rare seats tease the backsides of the morning peak hour. Commuters patronising one train to the city of Sydney this morning were treated to an overblown argument and a shaking of their comfort zones.

Stemming from one man's insistence of sitting on an aisle seat, another was drawn in by the fascination of a minor debate and the futility of wrapping a man's neck with fingers in public space. Choosing to seat himself with a spare between, the man at the left of the window promptly fell asleep. Later on during the journey, as another man sought the spare seat, he was awoken grumpy with his jaw extended to maximise his scowl.

"From the look of the bespectacled man," noted one witness, "he was clearly upset at the other man climbing over his knees in search of that elusive morning seat."

What followed was an executed string of profanity, wild arm movements and tsk-ing. Seconds later, the now awake bloke stood up looking for the crowd's agreement and sympathy. Their laughter along with pointing out his selfishness returned him to quiet and another carriage.

On that note...

Articles and all that more wordy stuff

Where in Kentucky - Mammoth Cave National Park
Monstrously, and seemingly neverending, sitting under the home ground of Colonel Sanders, the world's largest cave system. Yucatan comes nowhere close. Not even Cocklebiddy poses a threat. No comparison. Small holes looking up at a big fat long one. Sadly, with possible age and lack of food, no minotaurs to be found within the lime walls.
Homebrew Diary - Wheatbeer of misery
If what can turn a foul mood around becomes the harbinger of the foul mood, what happens next? Turn it into a learning experience. And when that learning curve makes a late break over the plate, you'd better start to swing away.
Homebrew Diary - Blackrock IPA + Hops
It doesn't take a big man to admit that he drinks. It takes a big man to get wasted and perform impromptu sermons naked from a balcony; raving upon the ravages of the insanity of stata bylaws and noisy offspring in adjoining arpartments...
