It’s not very often that I find pop/rock bands that I like. Even rarer is finding a pop/rock band that I like enough to justify the purchase of a CD.
For the most part I enjoy these bands live. However, much like jazz and funk, I really have no interest in indulging in these bands at home.
The truth is that outside the confines of a smoky bar, without beer and without the company of peeps to keep me company, I get bored.
Having said that, three bands that are getting pushed up on my ‘Music For Me’ list happen to be of the pop/rock variety.
- Peabody - Professional Againster
- Supergrass - Life on Other Planets
- You Am I - Deliverance
Now I’ve only heard 1 or 2 songs from these bands and their respective albums (save Peabody, but that was in a live setting) but from what I have heard it is all pretty Goddamn exciting.
All I need now is gainful employment to make these dreams a reality.
